5 Mar - What Price the City and How Might we Respond?

A new political discussion group for Leeds

Doreen Massey

What Price the City
How Might We Respond?

6.00 pm
Wednesday, 5th March

Old Broadcasting House,
Woodhouse Lane, Leeds Metropolitan University

Following our successful founding meeting in January, we would like to invite you to hear Professor   Doreen Massey from the Open University speak on responding to London’s impact as a global city. Her most recent publication is the acclaimed World City.

Two of Doreen’s articles from Soundings can be supplied on PDF on request:

‘London inside out’ and ‘The world we are in: An interview with Ken Livingstone’.

The event is free and open to all but we will take a collection for expenses.

Old Broadcasting House is the former BBC building on Woodhouse Lane: postcode LS1 3HE. For further directions or for any other queries, please contact one of us.

We will be setting up a working group to plan further discussions. Ideas welcomed.

Matthew Caygill, Max Farrar, Erika Laredo and Barry Winter

Sorry, we are unable to provide refreshments before the meeting but there is a coffee bar nearby in the Met. Take the entrance opposite the Dry Dock pub (the converted barge). Go down the corridor and you will see it on the left.
